A round table was held at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Tuzla on the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of Biological Diversity and the implementation of the ECOBIAS project on the topic “The Importance of Biological Diversity in the field of Bio-monitoring”. The 20th anniversary of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Tuzla was also celebrated on this occasion.

A round table was held at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Tuzla on the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of Biological Diversity and the implementation of the ECOBIAS project on the topic “The Importance of Biological Diversity in the field of Bio-monitoring”. The 20th anniversary of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Tuzla was also celebrated on this occasion.
This important event was attended by numerous professors from other faculties, a representative of the Pedagogical Institute, representatives of organizations, professors of the Department of Biology and students. The participants of the round table explained their experience in biodiversity research and the use of data in bio-monitoring, and it was discussed about a number of topics and problems related to biodiversity and bio-monitoring today, especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Active participation in the organization and realization of this significant event was also taken by undergraduate students of the Department of Biology and students of the master ECOBIAS study program “Eco-monitoring and Water Bio-indication” at the Department of Biology.
The conclusions of the round table are the need to consolidate biodiversity research data and its application in monitoring, the need to organize biologists in the context of a professional association and the need for active action of the profession in the legislative field concerning the position of biology graduates in the labor market.
