A round table entitled “Internationalization at Universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina”

A round table entitled “Internationalization at Universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina” was held at the University of Tuzla with the support of the Embassy of France in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In addition to the host institution, the University of Tuzla, the event was attended by representatives of the University of Sarajevo, the University of Zenica, the University of Bihać, the University of East Sarajevo, the University of Banja Luka, the International University of Sarajevo, the Centre for Information and Recognition – CIP BiH, as well as the Ministry of Education and Science of Tuzla Canton.

The round table provided a platform for the exchange of experiences and discussion of key challenges related to the internationalization of higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Particular emphasis was placed on opportunities and barriers to joining European university alliances, launching joint study programmes, and developing and delivering study programmes taught in English.

Participants highlighted the importance of organizing such events on a regular basis in order to initiate joint actions and create the necessary conditions for improving teaching and research, as well as for strengthening international cooperation among universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. On this occasion, Professor Suljagić addressed the internationalization of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tuzla, emphasizing that it has been implemented through the BIOSINT project. He underlined the establishment of virtual courses, support systems for incoming students and staff, including a buddy system, as well as the development of safety and security guidelines for international students and academic staff.
