In a solemn and dignified setting, on October 30, 2025, the inauguration of the Rector, Prof. Dr. Amir Karić, was held, officially marking the beginning of his term at the head of this higher education institution, which for almost five decades has stood as the center of academic, scientific, and cultural life in northeastern Bosnia.
The ceremony was attended by numerous distinguished guests from the academic community of Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad, representatives of the legislative and executive branches of government, members of the University Senate and Board of Directors, deans of faculties, professors, students, as well as representatives of public, cultural, and religious life.
As part of the inauguration ceremony, the Rector of the University of Tuzla, Prof. Dr. Amir Karić, was ceremonially presented with the rector’s gown and the University insignia, symbolizing the continuity of the academic tradition and the responsibility that this position carries.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Dr. Karić emphasized the importance of strengthening integrity and ethics in the work of all members of the academic community, as well as the need for collective action in building a modern, transparent, and inclusive university that serves both students and society.
The artistic segment of the program featured performances by professors of the University of Tuzla, as well as professors and students of the “Čestmir Mirko Dušek” Secondary Music School, who enriched the ceremony through music and spoken word, highlighting the cultural and artistic richness of the academic community.
The inauguration of Rector Prof. Dr. Amir Karić represents not only the formal act of assuming office but also a symbol of unity, responsibility, and dedication to the idea of education as the foundation of social progress and prosperity.
