A delegation of the University of Tuzla, led by Rector Prof. Dr. Amir Karić, together with Vice-Rector for Research Prof. Dr. Nermin Sarajlić and Prof. Dr. Nihada Delibegović Džanić, visited the University of Klagenfurt on 26–27 March 2026. The visit aimed to further strengthen academic cooperation and promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the fields of science, research, and innovation.
The first day of the visit included a comprehensive tour of the Alpen-Adria University of Klagenfurt campus, followed by a working meeting with Rector Prof. Dr. Ada Pellert and Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Jasmin Đonlić. During the meeting, the existing cooperation agreement between the two institutions was successfully renewed, while concrete steps and priority areas for future collaboration were also identified.
As part of the programme, the delegation visited the largest drone testing facility in Europe, located within the university campus, where they were introduced to advanced research infrastructure supporting innovation and applied research.
A particularly important part of the visit was the meeting at the Lakeside Science & Technology Park, where representatives presented the activities of inspireLAB and showcased ongoing projects in emerging technologies and innovation. This visit opened new opportunities for cooperation in joint research, innovation projects, and knowledge transfer initiatives.
On the second day of the visit, the delegation met with the Mayor of Klagenfurt, Mr. Christian Scheider, and representatives of the city administration. The meeting further strengthened institutional connections and highlighted the importance of cooperation between higher education institutions and local communities in fostering regional development and international partnerships.
This visit represents another significant step in the internationalization strategy of the University of Tuzla, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening partnerships with relevant European institutions and expanding cooperation in the areas of research, innovation, and academic development.
