Final Meeting of 1FUTURE Project in Tirana

The final meeting of the Erasmus+ project 1FUTURE was held on March 26 and 27, 2026, in Tirana, officially marking the conclusion of this strategic initiative aimed at building a climate-resilient future. The project primarily focused on strengthening the capacities of higher education institutions in the Western Balkans through curriculum modernization, the development of innovative research practices, and the establishment of stronger cooperation between the academic community and the business sector in the fields of climate action and sustainability.

During the meetings held at the University of Tirana and the Polytechnic University of Tirana, partners analyzed achieved results, concluding that all strategic objectives have been met. The project enabled the development of new resources, educational materials, and platforms that will continue to serve students and professionals long after its official conclusion.

Special emphasis during the final consolidation was placed on the work of the University of Tuzla (UNTZ), which took on and successfully realized the leadership role for Work Package 4 (WP4). Under the leadership of UNTZ, this segment of the project was successfully completed, ensuring a high standard in the implementation of planned activities. Consortium partners highlighted the professionalism and dedication of the Tuzla team, whose work was crucial to the overall quality of the project results.

The meeting also served as a platform for defining further steps for cooperation. Key topics included:

• Sustainability of Knowledge Hubs through new business models;
• Presentation of the Book of Case Studies, which represents one of the lasting results of the project;
• Defining future joint initiatives, confirming the consortium’s intention to continue building on the foundations established through 1FUTURE.

The official closure of the project confirmed that regional universities, led by quality leadership and collaboration, are ready for new European challenges and the further development of scientific research and educational activities.
