The Faculty of Physical Education and Sport and the Institute of Public Health of Tuzla Canton have signed a Cooperation Agreement establishing a strategic partnership between the education and healthcare sectors, with the aim of systematically monitoring the physical development and health status of children and youth in the Tuzla Canton area.
The Agreement was signed by the Director of the Institute, Prim. Dr. Med. Majda Sarihodžić, MA in Management, and the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Edin Užičanin, Associate Professor.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Prof. Dr. Amra Nožinović Mujanović, Vice Dean for Teaching at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Prof. Dr. Tarik Huremović, Vice Dean for Scientific Research, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Med. Sci. Selma Azabagić, Specialist in Hygiene and Medical Ecology and Head of the Department for Hygiene and Health Ecology at the Institute of Public Health of Tuzla Canton.
The cooperation will be implemented through the project “TKfit – Digital Platform for Monitoring the Development of Children and Youth through Physical Fitness and Health,” which represents an important step forward in establishing a systematic approach to monitoring the physical development and health status of children and youth.
By signing the Agreement, institutional frameworks have been established for continuous and systematic monitoring of the physical development of the school-age population, early identification of potential health risks, and the development of preventive public health programs based on scientific and professional analyses.
The planned activities within this cooperation include the analysis and interpretation of collected data, the preparation of joint professional reports and recommendations, the development and implementation of preventive programs, the education and training of professional staff, the implementation of joint scientific research projects, as well as applications for national and international projects in the fields of public health and sports sciences.
This Agreement holds particular strategic importance as it lays the foundation for the development of a long-term system for monitoring the physical and health status of children and youth. By connecting the academic sector with public health institutions, conditions are created for more informed public policies and measures aimed at improving the health and quality of life of younger generations.
