Representatives from the University of Tuzla recently visited Italy and Germany as part of the Erasmus+ “jOiNEd For sUsTainability – bUilding climate REsilient communities in WB and EU – 1FUTURE” project, participating in two significant training sessions focused on sustainability and climate resilience within WP4.
From May 26 to May 30, 2025, a training titled “Planing, Design, Architecture and Sustainability” was held at the IUAV University in Venice. The training program focused on design strategies that reduce the impact of climate change, principles of the circular economy, and spatial planning that enhances the resilience of urban areas. Special emphasis was placed on the case study of Venice, a city facing significant climate change challenges.
The University of Tuzla was represented by: Dr.sc. Nedžad Ribić, Assistant Professor, BA Eng. Noris Sakić, Assistant, and Dr.sc. Elvir Ferhatbegović. Their participation allowed them to gain new knowledge and insights into global practices in combating climate change.
Continuing activities within the same project, representatives from the University of Tuzla visited the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE) in Germany from June 09 to June 13, 2025. There, they participated in a training titled “Nature-Based Tourism”. This training program focused on key topics such as protected area management, the impact of tourism on biodiversity, the economic valuation of protected areas, and constructivist perspectives on landscapes. The University of Tuzla was represented by: Dr.sc. Semir Ahmetbegović, Associate Professor and Dr.sc. Dado Srkalović, Assistant Professor.
These training sessions represent an important step in strengthening the University of Tuzla’s capacities in sustainable development and climate resilience, contributing to the achievement of the 1FUTURE Erasmus+ project goals.
