On 3 December at the Bosnian Cultural Center in Tuzla, the University of Tuzla promoted 344 graduates and master’s degree holders from six faculties, officially launching the celebration of 49 years of work of this public higher education institution.
The ceremony opened with an address by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Amir Karić, who emphasized that the promotion represents a confirmation of the knowledge acquired through many years of study and is the result of the continuous work of the University of Tuzla, which serves as the key driving force of scientific development and the professional advancement of experts in various fields, both in the Tuzla Canton and in the wider region.
Students, parents, and faculty members filled the large hall of the BKC, creating an atmosphere that further highlighted the importance of the event. In the first group, diplomas were awarded to students of the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Faculty of Economics, and Faculty of Pharmacy.
Speeches on behalf of the graduating class were delivered by Lejla Hasić from the Faculty of Medicine and Lana Stanić from the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation. In their remarks, they clearly underlined the role of the academic staff and the importance of institutional support throughout their studies, noting that the knowledge they have gained provides a strong basis for further professional development in their respective fields.
Words of support were also extended by the Minister of Education and Science of the Tuzla Canton, Dr. Ahmed Omerović.
This year’s promotion was organized over two days and divided into three groups to ensure a smooth flow of the ceremony and to avoid exceeding the capacity of the BKC.
