The promotion of doctors of science who defended their doctoral dissertation at one of the faculties of the University of Tuzla was held at the University of Tuzla. The ceremonial promotion was held on Thursday, December 14, 2023, starting at 12:00 PM in the A2 Amphitheater of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Tuzla (Dr. Tihomila Markovića Street, No. 1). The present guests and doctoral students were addressed by the Rector of the University of Tuzla, Prof. Dr. Nermina Hadžigrahić, the Mayor of Tuzla, Mr. Zijad Lugavić, and the Minister of Education and Science in the Government of Tuzla Canton, Mr. Ahmed Omerović.
Mirnesa Baraković Nurikić addressed the audience on behalf of the PhD candidates.
Rector Hadžigrahić, together with the deans of the faculties at the University of Tuzla, promoted 26 doctoral , highlighting their academic contribution to the development of the local community, as well as their contribution to the future development of the University of Tuzla and the overall social, economic, and political growth of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The country needs to primarily rely on skilled young professionals.
“This is their great achievement but also the success of us all, namely the University of Tuzla, which is celebrating 47 years of work and existence. Today, they become part of our academic community and embark on a new path. I am confident that the new generation of doctoral students will make our university stronger, better, and more recognizable,” said Rector Hadžigrahić.
The attendees had the opportunity to enjoy performances by the students of the Music High School “Čestmir Mirko Dušek” Tuzla.
