H.E.Roem Kono, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, visited the University of Tuzla on 4th November 2021, where he met with the Rector, Prof. Nermina Hadžigrahić, Vice- Rector for International Relations Prof. Vesna Bratovčić, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Nihada Delibegović Džanić and Mirha Mujkanović, MA, Senior Officer at the International Relations Office.
During the meeting, Rector Hadžigrahić, expressed satisfaction with a long-term cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to Bosnia and Herzegovina and offered to sign an agreement between the Embassy and the University in Tuzla. Rector Hadžigrahić suggested that two events could be organized between the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia and the University of Tuzla. The first activity would be a lecture by Ambassador Kono to students of the Department of Philosophy-Sociology of the study program Political Science at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, that would be organized in the summer semester of the current academic year. While, another event would be an online lecture, which would be attended by professors from the University of Indonesia and the University of Tuzla. Rector Hadžigrahić also mentioned the names of universities from the Republic of Indonesia that University of Tuzla has already established cooperation and signed bilateral agreements, and she expressed readiness to expand cooperation with other universities in Indonesia.
Ambassador Kono expressed good luck and satisfaction that he came to Tuzla and University of Tuzla, and said that he would work to expand cooperation between University of Tuzla and the Republic of Indonesia, especially when it comes to students and studies. The Ambassador conveyed the interest of the Indonesian universities to provide scholarships to students from Bosnia and Herzegovina. An agreement was reached to began this process in order to establish closer cooperation between the International Relations Office of the University in Tuzla and the Embassy of Indonesia to Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to inform students about scholarship opportunities and mobility.
During his visit, Ambassador Kono visited the University of Tuzla Campus, the laboratory of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and met with professors of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Academy of Dramatic Arts.
During the visit, Ambassador Kono visited the Indonesian corner, located in the hall of the Rectorate of the University of Tuzla since 2019. On this occasion, the Embassy of Indonesia replaced the previous setting and prepared new setting with a food grown in Indonesia, but packaged and sold in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia.
It was expressed readiness for continuation of the successful cooperation between the University of Tuzla and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
