The University of Tuzla organized an Info Day titled “Participation in International Research Projects: Experiences, Challenges and Opportunities”, which was held on Wednesday, 15 April 2026, starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Amphitheatre of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport.
The Info Day was opened by Dr. Suad Kunosić, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Tuzla, and President of the Council for Science and Technology of MONTK. In his introductory remarks, he spoke about the position of the University in the contemporary academic environment, emphasizing the importance of active participation in international research projects as a key factor in institutional development.
In the continuation of the programme, Mr. Nina Begović, Head of the Research Office at the University of Sarajevo, presented the institution’s experience in developing research capacities through international projects, highlighting the importance of a strategic approach and strong institutional support.
Dr. Suzana Gotovac Atlagić, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Banja Luka, spoke about the opportunities and challenges of participation in the EIT fund and the EIT HEI initiative, with a special focus on the so-called “cascade” projects within the Horizon programme, which represent a significant opportunity for researchers from the region.
Practical experiences at the cantonal level were presented by Ms. Erna Kusturica, Assistant Minister of Economy of Tuzla Canton, who discussed the process of applying for and implementing projects within the Horizon programme, as well as the possibilities for cooperation between the University and governmental institutions in future activities.
The event concluded with a Q&A session, during which participants had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss specific challenges and opportunities in the field of international research cooperation. The exchange of ideas and experiences further confirmed the importance of such events for strengthening the research community and enhancing the international visibility of the University of Tuzla.
