The University of Sarajevo hosted the kick-off meetings of the ERASMUS+ CBHE project “Development of Research & Development Strategies and Centers in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (RDBIH) on February 12th and 13th. The aim of the project is to enhance the research and development (R&D) capacity in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Representing the University of Tuzla, which is one of the project’s partners, were Prof. Dr. Vesna Bratovčić, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Meldina Kokorović Jukan, and Prof. Dr. Jasmina Okičić Džindo. The coordinator of the RDBIH project is the University of Novi Sad, and its implementation began on November 1st last year, with a planned duration of 48 months. The project brings together 15 partners, including leading universities in BiH, international partners, and relevant ministries: the University of Tuzla, the University of Zenica, the University of East Sarajevo, the University of Banja Luka, the University of Sarajevo, the University of Mostar, Technische Hochschule Ulm (Germany), University of Macedonia (Greece), the Ministry of Education and Science of the Tuzla Canton, the Ministry of Scientific-Technological Development, Higher Education of Republika Srpska, the Ministry of Science, Education, Culture and Sports of the Herzeg-Bosnia County, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the West Herzegovina County, the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of the Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, as well as the BIT Alliance BiH.
The specific objectives of the RDBIH project include the development of R&D strategies in the entities/cantons in BiH, the establishment of R&D centers at universities in BiH, and the development of a network of R&D centers throughout BiH.
This project is expected to make a significant contribution to the academic and scientific community in BiH, opening up new opportunities for research, innovation, and cooperation at the national and international level.
