Project Starting: 1 November 2025
Project Duration: 48 months

RDBIH aims to
Transform Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH)’s research landscape over four years. Led by the University of Novi Sad with EU and local partners, the initiative focuses on developing modern research and development (R&D) strategies aligned with European standards, establishing six R&D centers across leading universities, and creating a digital R&D network to facilitate collaboration and knowledge exchange.
This project addresses critical challenges such as the absence of research infrastructure, limited research outputs, and weak academia-industry collaboration. By combating brain drain and fostering applied research, the project will enhance scientific relevance, societal impact, and labor market alignment. It also includes capacity-building efforts to train researchers and staff in effectively managing the new R&D centers.
The RDBIH project aspires to create a sustainable research ecosystem that supports innovation, economic growth, and global competitiveness for BiH universities. By fostering academia-industry-policy partnerships and establishing an inclusive digital platform, the initiative will contribute to the country’s transition toward a knowledge-based, sustainable society.
